Organisation Support
Development Officers are here to help your community group get off the ground, or to operate effectively once up and running. They are dedicated, passionate and experienced.
Whether a registered charity or an individual, a sports club or a faith group, a campaign or a community clean-up, no project is too big or too small.
You don’t need to be part of an existing community group and you don’t need to be a paid member of staff — we also work with local residents, volunteers and trustees.
VCSE Activation Contract
As of July 2024 we are working under a new contract, now in its second year, the Activation Contract. We deliver targeted support to VCSE organisations (identified through a data-driven approach) that deliver health and social care services, in order to divert people away from frontline services and into the community.
The Activation contract includes connected work around three themes:
- Strengthening the sector – delivered by us and Participate Projects
- Sector Voice – delivered predominantly by VCS Alliance
- Citizen Voice – delivered by CNet
Organisations that are eligible will be contacted. Eligible groups will receive an organisational diagnostic to identify areas that need addressing. Organisations will then be provided with a development plan that may be resourced through a small support which will fund or match-fund specialist support.
What if I’m not contacted / eligible?
For groups that are not eligible under this contract, we may be able to provide support through other means. These include:
- Self-serve resources in our resource hub
- Training provided by our skilled staff
- Free generalised support and advice if your voluntary sector organisation’s annual income is up to £100,000. This could be a Getting Started short course or 1:1 support
- Paid-for support if your voluntary sector organisation’s annual income is £100,001 or above. This could be a Getting Started short course (£20 per participant), half-day course (£40 per participant) or 1:1 support, charged at a rate of £40 per hour, £150 per half day or £250 per full day
If finance is a barrier to accessing our support, please do get in touch at info@cabad.org.uk and we will see what we can do!
We also provide bespoke in-house training for staff, volunteers, management committees and boards.
Community Action create each session around the specific and unique needs of your organisation. We work on the issues that are important to you.
