Emergency First Aid at Work 1 Day, 24th March 2022

This  emergency first aid at work course is designed for ‘nominated’ persons or for people who provide support to qualified first aiders. The certificate is valid for 3 years.

Please note, masks must be worn throughout the training. On arrival to Campus, please go to Richmond Building reception (if driving please park in the visitor car park to the side of the building). There you will be given a parking permit if required and a visitor permit. You will then be given directions to the Great Hall where you will have a lateral flow Covid-19 test. After the test, you can immediately go to the teaching room.

Syllabus to include:
  • Health and safety (first aid) regulations
  • Managing an incident
  • The priorities of first aid
  • Treatment of an unconscious casualty including Seizures
  • Resuscitation
  • Shock
  • Bleeding
  • AED

This course does not cover fractures, sprains and strains, spinal injuries, chest injuries, severe burns and scalds, eye injuries, poisoning, anaphylaxis, heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma and diabetes. If you identify a likelihood of these occurring, a full 3 Day First Aid at Work Course would be required.

Course Assessment – in order to gain a certificate you must:
  • Attend the whole course
  • Pass the practical assessment

Parking is very difficult at the University.  We advise arriving by public transport or parking in the city centre.

Venue details:

This booking page is only for staff/volunteers from voluntary and community organisations in Bradford District.  All other bookings should be made directly with Unique Fitness at Bradford University.
