Getting Started – Protect your Data (online)

Cost- Free if your voluntary sector organisation’s annual income is up to £100,000.
- If your voluntary sector organisation’s annual income is £100,001 and above, the charge is £20 per person (non-refundable course fee). Before booking – read the cancellation policy and get permission to pay for the course.
Course content: Protect your Data
As small charities and community groups increase their digital presence, the risk of data breaches also increases. This practical session will look at how to effectively safeguard the data your organisation holds. It will give an overview of:
- The legal principles on which you can process data (General Data Protection Regulations, Data Protection Act)
- Having an effective data protection / privacy policy and
- Responding to data breaches
We will also share further sources of information, guidance and support to help you effectively protect the data you hold.
Who can book?
Getting Started courses are exclusively for trustees, staff and volunteers from voluntary and community sector organisations in Bradford district.
This includes; charities, community interest companies limited by guarantee, faith groups, sports clubs, and other not-for-profit groups with a constitution.
Not part of a voluntary sector organisation? Not in Bradford district? Sorry, this course is not for you.
Will I get a booking confirmation?
Yes, you will get an automated email confirming your booking. Remember to check your junk mail folder. If you use more than one email, remember to check the mailbox for the email address you registered with.
What about the Zoom link?
Two days before the course everyone who books will get another email with the Zoom meeting details. We will also send an email reminder on the day. Remember to check your junk mail folder. We do not publish the Zoom link on the website. You must book a place to get the link.
