Make a difference in your community, while shaping the future of the local voluntary, community and social enterprise sector.

Having just set a new strategic direction, Community Action Bradford & District is seeking up to three new trustees to join our Board and help guide our vital work supporting voluntary, community and social enterprise sector organisations across the district.

Our new strategic themes are:

• Collaboration and partnerships
• Support and capability
• Financial sustainability

If you feel you can support us with this, please read on and get in touch!

We’re particularly keen to hear from individuals who bring skills, experience and connections in one or more of the following areas:

• Employment and HR (with a view to potentially joining our personnel sub-committee)
• Finance and accounts
• Business development and income generation
• Marketing and communications
• Innovation and creative thinking
• The local research sector
• Local community knowledge and networks

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and experiences – what matters most is your commitment to our mission and your desire to contribute meaningfully to the organisations we serve.

What you can expect

• A full and bespoke induction tailored to your needs and knowledge gaps, including:
  • Time with our Chief Executive Officer
  • Time with our Chair of Trustees
  • A walkthrough of the charity’s accounts
• Time commitment:
  • Board meetings take place every other month (2 hours each, with a little time for reading papers in advance)
  • A mix of online and face-to-face meetings
  • Optional quarterly sub-committee involvement (no expectation to join a sub-committee in your first year)

You’ll be joining a welcoming and active Board of six current trustees, with space to bring your ideas, energy and insight to our team.
