Since February 2026, Development Officers have been visiting libraries across all five constituencies, offering on-the-spot advice and support to new and grassroots groups.

Following a successful pilot period, this service has moved to a new delivery model.

What We Offer
Our Development Officers are available across all five constituencies through a monthly face-to-face session at local libraries and a monthly online session. These sessions provide practical, on-the-spot support and guidance for your organisation.

Who Should Attend:

These sessions are ideal for new and grassroots groups seeking one-to-one advice on:

• Governance and policies
• Volunteering (recruitment, supervision and training)
• Safeguarding
• Funding and fundraising
• Training and skills development
• Payroll
• Networking and partnerships
• And much more

How It Works:

• Book a 30-minute time slot
• Meet with one of our resident Development Officers
• Receive immediate advice and support, or be signposted to specialist services if needed.
• Arrange follow-up support where appropriate.
• Drop in on the day if an appointment is available, although booking in advance is recommended for a guaranted slot.

When booking your ticket, you will be asked to select a specific time slot for your appointment. Each ticket is valid for one time slot only.

Whilst drop-in visitors are welcome, you may need to wait until a Development Officer becomes available. Booking in advance is recommended.
