Since February 2026, Development Officers have been visiting libraries across all five constituencies, offering on-the-spot advice and support to new and grassroots groups.
Following a successful pilot period, this service has moved to a new delivery model.
What We Offer
Our Development Officers are available across all five constituencies through a monthly face-to-face session at local libraries and a monthly online session. These sessions provide practical, on-the-spot support and guidance for your organisation.
Who Should Attend:
These sessions are ideal for new and grassroots groups seeking one-to-one advice on:
- Governance and policies
- Volunteering (recruitment, supervision and training)
- Safeguarding
- Funding and fundraising
- Training and skills development
- Payroll
- Networking and partnerships
- And much more
How It Works:
- Book a 30-minute time slot
- Meet with one of our resident Development Officers
- Receive immediate advice and support, or be signposted to specialist services if needed.
- Arrange follow-up support where appropriate.
- Drop in on the day if an appointment is available, although booking in advance is recommended for a guaranted slot.
Whether you need quick advice or more in-depth guidance, we’re here to help your organisation thrive.
Please book a ticket for a specific time slot
When booking your ticket, you will be asked to select a specific time slot for your appointment. Each ticket is valid for one time slot only.
Whilst drop-in visitors are welcome, you may need to wait until a Development Officer becomes available. Booking in advance is recommended.
