A change in our Governance

4th February 2026

Sadly, the organisation will soon be saying goodbye to its longstanding Chair, Robert Templar, who has held the position since May 2020. Robert will be stepping down in March 2026 and handing over to the incoming Chair, Mark Nicholson, who has been a valued trustee for some time. Robert will be greatly missed, and the team wish him all the best on his travels and whatever comes next for him.

Retiring Chair, Robert has this to say:

“After six rewarding years as a trustee and Chair of Community Action Bradford and District, the time has come for me to step down. It has been a privilege to contribute my time and experience, working alongside the Board of Trustees, the CEO, and staff, whose dedication to supporting Bradford’s VCSE sector is truly inspiring.

I am delighted to welcome Mark Nicholson as the new Chair and I wish him every success in leading the organisation forward.”

Incoming Chair, Mark said this:

On behalf of the Board of Trustees and Staff of Community Action Bradford and District, I would like to express our sincere thanks to Robert on his sterling leadership as Chair of our organisation.

Over the past six years, he has demonstrated his commitment to Community Action but more importantly his energy and passion in ensuring the organisation meets the needs and expectations of the VCSE sector across Bradford & District.

We would like to wish Robert every success for the future.

As incoming Chair, I am looking forward to working with the Board and CEO in the delivery of our mission and values in supporting and representing the VCSE sector across Bradford & District.
