Our work: HACT Local Impact Report

Community Action Bradford & District work with a range of organisations locally, regionally and nationally to support them with their legacy projects, marketing efforts, on-the-ground research, running campaigns and developing best practice.

One recent project was with HACT, a charity in the social housing sector. They have a two-year programme that aims to support social landlords, local agencies and communities to work together to improve opportunities and outcomes for over 50’s living in Bradford.

They commissioned us to deliver the legacy phase (the final six months) of their programme in Bradford, to deliver age-friendly projects and influencing activity alongside other housing associations in the area.

This involved four areas –

  • Social Connection Activity – aiming to capture and assess the impact of social connection activity in the area, and mapping activity in the Keighley area
  • Make it Happen grants programme – delivering grants of £500 to support residents of housing associations to establish new social activities
  • Age-Friendly Principles – understanding what these are and the principles that are important to Bradford and how these can be embedded at a local level
  • Strategic Engagement – obtaining buy-in from strategic partners with a promise to embed age-friendly principles into their own work

This work was extremely successful and culminated in a final report summarising the work. A Bradford District Age-Friendly Network is being established as a result and will make great strides in support organisations to be age-friendly!

We are proud to have been involved in this piece of work. If you have a piece of work that you need support with, whether it is a legacy project, a business plan, a marketing or impact report, campaign graphics, or anything else – please drop us an email at info@cabad.org.uk.

See the report or see full details of the project on the HACT website.
