*UPDATED* Workshops for grassroots sport organisations
4th April 2025
We’re working with partners on Sport For Good West Yorkshire, a free programme of mentoring and workshops on key priorities for sports clubs and organisations. This project is funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
There are almost 2,500 sports clubs and organisations registered in West Yorkshire. They play an important role in their local communities, while offering a place for people to come together and feel proud of their community. This is being put at risk as sports clubs and organisations face more and more challenges. Rising running costs, the rising cost of living keeping people from participating, a national drop in volunteering!
To overcome these challenges, some sports clubs and organisations are considering reducing their sessions and many are using their reserves. But this is not a long-term solution.
Sport For Good
We are launching a new programme for people who run sports clubs and organisations in the most deprived areas of West Yorkshire because we need to increase the resilience, engagement, sustainability and diversity of these organisations. Workshops will:
- Be delivered by experienced professionals who get results
- Be completely free
- Take place in the evening so we don’t disrupt your work
- Share examples of best practice for sports organisations
- Give practical advice to fit your needs and capacity

We are holding free workshops held both online and in-person in Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield. The Bradford Workshops are (links to Eventbrite):
