Training
We are proud to provide a variety of training courses for voluntary and community groups as well as for individuals in the Bradford District.
Community Action runs training courses for voluntary sector organisations in Bradford district on topics that help them run their organisations. Courses take place online and face to face including our Getting Started short intro/ refresher courses, half-day courses and full-day training for more in-depth learning.
Find the next Leaders’ Network meeting or browse the full range of events: – see our next dates for Community Action events.
We may also offer bespoke in-house courses to organisations and their employees. These are chargeable at our standard day rate.
For training enquiries and further information, please email info@cabad.org.uk or telephone 07422 966142.
The training and events calendar includes training by other charity providers in West Yorkshire on topics that we get asked about the most.
Cancellation policy
Paid courses
Course fees are paid in advance and are non-refundable. We will invoice your organisation when you book a place.
The booking form includes space for you to tell us where to email the invoice and you can tell us to add a specific payment reference to the invoice if that’s helpful for you.
Unable to attend a paid course?
You can transfer your place to another person in the same or a different organisation. Just let us know the name, organisation and contact details of the person you have transferred your place to. We will use that information to make sure they get the course joining instructions and a copy of information from the training. Email info@cabad.org.uk or telephone 07422 966142.
Free courses and events
External funding in the form of grants or contracts and sometimes Community Action’s own charitable reserves can be used to make courses and events free of charge to your group. This means that in return, we will ask for some information (instead of cash!) from your organisation. Please complete surveys that are sent to you.
Unable to attend a free course?
Please cancel your place as soon as possible so that we can help another organisation and reach as many groups as possible with the funding available. Depending on the event funding criteria, you may be able to transfer your place. Email info@cabad.org.uk or telephone 07422 966142.
Online training policy
Attendance
We do not allow AI note taking services to attend in your place. AI services that join or try to join the call will be removed.
People who are more than 15min late will not get an attendance certificate.
Cameras don’t need to be on but we do need to know who you are and you do need to interact in some way – otherwise we may remove you from the session. Please rename yourself when you join so that we know who is on the call. If you don’t want to have your camera on, please unmute and introduce yourself verbally when invited to. You could also type in the chat.
If you are not focused on the session it can distract other participants – if you need to do something else during the call, to minimise disruption please keep it discrete – mute your mic, turn off your camera, and avoid announcing it. This helps everyone stay focused and feel that the effort they’re making is respected. Thanks for understanding!
To reduce background noise, please keep your microphone on mute until you want to speak. Use the raised hand function to flag that you have a question – this helps the trainer identify when you want to talk and to take questions in the correct order.
Health and safety
Do not join when driving, or conducting another activity e.g. walking or cooking where being distracted could result in injury. We reserve the right to remove people from online training, even if they have paid, if we suspect that someone is at risk of injury whilst on the call. Our decision is final because we do not want to risk your safety or the safety of others.
Housekeeping
If you’re having technical problems, try leaving the Zoom and then re-join using the same link. We will let you back in from the waiting room.
You will get a copy of the slides, any handouts, and the attendance certificate after the session when attending fully (please see note above re attendance).
