Getting Started – Manage Volunteers (online)

Cost- Free if your voluntary sector organisation’s annual income is up to £100,000.
- If your voluntary sector organisation’s annual income is £100,001 and above, the charge is £20 per person (non-refundable course fee). Before booking – read the cancellation policy and get permission to pay for the course.

Course content: Manage Volunteers
Volunteers are at the heart of many organisations but managing and supporting them well takes time, thought and the right approach.
What we will cover:
- Creating a volunteer policy that works, why it matters and what to include
- Designing meaningful roles that are clear, rewarding and aligned with your organisations needs
- Planning a smooth induction process so volunteers feel confident from day one
- Recruiting the right volunteers, where to find them and how to make sure they’re a good fit
- Providing ongoing support to keep volunteers motivated and achieving
- Guidance and sources of support
This course will help you to build strong foundations for volunteer management, giving clear guidance you can put into practice straight away.
In-house option: if you would like to train several members of your team, you can arrange in-house training just for your organisation and it will be tailored to your current position.
This course is perfect for: volunteer coordinators or managers (whether formally or informally), staff or volunteers responsible for recruiting or supporting volunteers, and those looking to involve volunteers for the first time.
Who can book?
Getting Started courses are exclusively for trustees, staff and volunteers from voluntary and community sector organisations in Bradford district. This includes; charities, community interest companies limited by guarantee, faith groups, sports clubs, and other not-for-profit groups with a constitution.
Not part of a voluntary sector organisation? Not in Bradford district? Sorry, this course is not for you.
Will I get a booking confirmation?

What about the Zoom link?
Two days before the course everyone who books will get another email with the Zoom meeting details. We will also send an email reminder on the day. Remember to check your junk mail folder. We do not publish the Zoom link on the website. You must book a place to get the link.
