Course content: Safeguarding
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and knowing what to do can make all the difference.
This practical, supportive course, for front-line staff and volunteers, will give you the knowledge and confidence to respond appropriately and responsibly to disclosures.
What we will cover:
- What safeguarding really means – understand the purpose of safeguarding and why it is central to your role
- Key principles – learn the foundations that guide good practice and keep people safe
- Responding to a disclosure – know how to listen, respond and act if someone shares a concern with you
- Recognising abuse – build awareness of different types of abuse and the signs to look out for
- Confidentiality – learn how to handle sensitive information responsibly, when to share (or not share) and why
The course creates a safe space to learn, ask questions and build confidence.
In-house option: if you would like to train several members of your team, you can arrange in-house training just for your organisation and it will be tailored to your current position.
This course is perfect for: staff or volunteers working directly with members of the public, or supervising those who do, and anyone who is likely to be the first point of contact for a disclosure.
